Happy New Year Everyone!

Wishing all my friends and frenemies blessings and love for the New Year!

Don’tcha hate that word, frenemies?  That one didn’t make the annual list of banned words and phrases though, from the Word Banishment Committee of Lake Superior State University, which this year added “shovel ready,” “sexting,” “app” (as in “there’s an app for that”) “czar,” and “teachable moment” to it’s list of overused words and phrases that should be banned from the English language.  Apparently no one pays much attention to the list, however, since we still hear “24/7” (banned in 2000, “LOL” (on the list in 2004) and “state of the art” (banned since 1993).  However, I don’t know about you, but I haven’t heard “happy camper” ( also listed in 1993) in a long time.  Maybe it’s time for a revival?  Nooooo.  Please, no, I did NOT suggest that.

Anyway… are there any other overused words and phrases that drive you nuts?  What do you think should be on the list?  Frenemies is my nomination, I’m ready to hear yours.

Christmas – It’s a Wrap!  (Almost)

As you can see, I’m ready to go with presents for my grandsons, and some chocolate for their mom (she gets a gift certificate too, she was very good this year, lol.)  I just can’t wait for Ben and Jack to start playing with their farm.  ‘Cuz Grandma’s gonna be on the floor playing with them!
